Many tourists have a concern of safety due to main stream news they have heard, or friends and family warning them that it is unsafe. To answer that, yes we do have crime, and as sad as that is, this should not stop you from experiencing South Africa and all of its beauty.
I have heard way to many times, "I was told its so dangerous but iv never felt unsafe since being here"! Well that's true, and good! Most of the crime in South Africa is dominant in big cities like Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban, and restricted to informal settlements and gang ridden community's on the outskirts of city's. As a tourists you can easily avoid these areas and have an amazing time!

Stopping off at various backpackers or Airbnb’s you will have the opportunity’s to meet locals like myself and find the true gems we have on offer!
